In 2024, a case in point may be child actor Jo Yeo Joon. At the age of six, the young performer has already landed roles in Netflix thriller The Frog and rom-com Love Next Door, where he portrays a Hallyu icon’s younger self.

1. Jo Yeo Joon was born in 2017.
The young actor was born on November 7, 2017 in South Korea. Yeo Joon was around five years old when he made his first appearance in a K-drama, and he later appeared in other hit series by the age of six.
2. He made his K-drama debut in “Twinkling Watermelon.”
Yeo Joon had his drama debut in the fourth episode of Twinkling Watermelon, where he portrayed the six-year-old version of Bong Jae Hyun’s character Ha Eun-ho. The 2023 series stars Ryeoun as Ha Eun-gyeol, Eun-ho’s brother who’s a budding musician born to deaf parents. His world changes when he finds himself back in the '90s, where he joins a band called Twinkling Watermelon.
3. He plays Jung Hae In’s younger version in “Love Next Door.”
In Love Next Door, Yeo Joon steps into the shoes of one of K-drama’s sought-after actors, Jung Hae In. The show follows childhood friends Choi Seung-hyo (Hae In) and Baek Seok-ryu (Jung So Min), who chance upon each other again in adulthood–but not without some hilarious hijinks! As it's a classic childhood-friends-to-lovers story, the drama offers flashback scenes of the pair in their younger years, with Yeo Joon playing Seung-hyo’s kid version, alongside fellow child actor Oh Eun Seo as young Seok-ryu.
4. He has two older siblings.
Talent and charm run in the family! Seok-ryu is the youngest of a sibling trio, who are also not strangers to being in front of the camera. Yeo Joon has an older sister named Jo Yeo Na, born in 2015, while his older brother Jo Yeo Bin was born in 2013.
