Jermine Jacob and Edison Bondal, a couple who got married in Tagaytay, recently went viral for their enviable wedding souvenirs.
The pair, who’ve made a business out of selling designer items online, gave away Michael Kors watches and 18 karat gold jewelry to around 100 of their guests! In a Facebook post, the bride explained that this was their way of showing gratitude to their loved ones and sharing the blessings they worked hard for.
Life wasn’t as generous to the pair three years ago when all they could afford was a civil wedding while working as OFWs in Dubai. Around that time, Jermine also lost her job and didn’t even have anything nice to wear to her humble nuptials. Tight on money, they skipped the reception altogether and couldn’t invite any guests to celebrate their special day. “Walang celebration as in pirmahan lang,” wrote Jermine.
Despite the setback, the couple still dreamt of having a church wedding one day. Luckily, after years of hard work and prayers, they finally tied the knot at Our Lady Of Lourdes in Tagaytay last August 15, alongside their family and friends. In an interview, the newlyweds mentioned that they intentionally asked their guests not to bring them wedding gifts since they’d be the ones doing the gift giving.
Jermine further shared, “Ang intention po namin is to share lang talaga yung blessings na natatanggap namin sa buhay and to give gifts to show appreciation lalo na sa mga nag leave pa sa trabaho para lang makasama kami.”
Congratulations to the happy couple (and their wedding guests)!
