Delia Razon has passed away on Saturday, March 15. Kapuso star Carla Abellana announced her grandmother's passing earlier today on Instagram. The veteran actress, whose notable films include Rodrigo de Villa, Luksang Tagumpay, Higit sa Korona, and Dalawang Pag-ibig, was 94.

1. Her real name is Lucy May Grytz Reyes.
Delia was born in Iloilo City to German-American Karyl Grytz and Spanish-Filipina May Duling. Late film producer Narcisa de León discovered her talent and gave her the screen name Delia Razon.
2. She had a career that spanned for over 60 years.
Delia quit school at the Colegio de Santo Angel to pursue acting. During a visit to film production company Sampaguita Pictures, Delia was given a screen test, which she passed.
The then-budding actress played an extra in Awit ng Bulag in 1948, then made her debut in the film Krus na Bituin in the same year. Her last film was Buenavista (Ang Kasaysayan ng Lucena) in 2010.

3. She was known as the Queen of Costume Pictures.
Because of her beautiful facial features and regal bearing, Delia became the go-to leading lady for LVN Pictures' costume and period films in the 1950s. One of the biggest film studios in the history of Filipino cinema, LVN was compared to Hollywood's MGM Studios in terms of production scale and star power.

4. She was an award-winning actress.
Delia received the FAMAS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009. She was also nominated for a FAMAS Award for Best Actress, in 1957 for her performance in the drama film Luksang Tagumpay.
5. She belonged to a family of actors.
Delia married Aurelio Reyes and had three children: Jojo, Aurelia, and Rea. Rea would follow in her mother's footsteps and appear on the silverscreen for Basag ang Pula and The Onyok Velasco Story. She would also start a family with fellow actor and '80s heartthrob, Rey Abellana.
