How to Get to Manami Resort in Sipalay, Negros Occidental

A go-to among the Negrenses for some much-deserved leisure time, Sipalay is a coastal city known by Negros Occidental locals for gorgeous sunsets, fresh seafood, and stunning natural attractions. The Jewel of the Sugar Island, Sipalay was also the center of sugar production in the region.

To get there, you can travel by plane to either Dumaguete-Sibulan Airport or Bacolod-Silay Airport, and upon arriving on the island, it would take another three to four hours by land. It's a long drive, but the resort's local airport transfer service—a spacious van which you can request with an additional fee—comes with light refreshments to make the drive more comfortable.

What to Do at Manami Resort in Sipalay

They say life's real luxury is being able to slow down, and your stay in Manami invites you to do just that—amidst lush nature and elegant interiors, of course. Fully living up to its name which is Hiligaynon for beautiful, every corner is meticulously arranged to look effortless, and every moment spent becomes a chance to exhale and be present. Check out some of the best and most luxurious things to do during your stay:

1. Commune with nature.

While there are golf carts to take you around, don't overlook the chance to stroll through the sprawling property in your summer outfit staples. With an abundance of fresh air and greenery, it feels like stepping inside a perfectly shot Instagram Reel, with the sound of waves and bird songs filling the air, and a random peacock just casually passing by.

Idling by the beach is always a good idea, more so when the sun sets, the skies are clear, and the stars are infinite. For something more novel, you can also visit the in-property Bat Cave for a dose of adrenaline, whether you opt to spelunk all the way or just make a quick trek for some photo-op by the entrance.

2. Lounge poolside for happy hour.

Whether taking a dip in their infinity pool that overlooks the Sulu Sea or leisurely lounging by the open-air terrace of Hunas Sunset Deck and Bar, beat the perennial summer heat by indulging in a sugar cane cocktail (go for the Manami Mojito or the Tubo Rum Tiki for a refreshing drink with a twist) or some artisanal homemade ice cream with delectable flavors like Muscovado, Avocado, and Cookie Butter. It makes the perfect set-up for pondering the meaning of life whether on your own or with a trusted confidante.

3. Visit Linong Spa.

Manami takes the spa experience to new heights with their Linong Spa—literally. Perched atop a hill, the spa's main area exudes an almost sacred appeal with its grand doorway, cathedral ceilings, and a capiz-lined reception table. The space gracefully harmonizes simplicity and opulence with its choice of design and medium.

Treatments are just as impressive. You will be served refreshments and asked to choose your oil before being led to your own private hut that boasts impeccable views of the sea. The Linong Signature Touch (starts at P2,800 for 60 minutes) is not one to be missed. It begins with a sound healing therapy followed by their signature massage that combines slow and soothing strokes.

4. Feast in Lingaw.

Spanish-Filipino cuisine with a touch of local Negrense flavors takes centerstage in Lingaw, the resort's all-day dining restaurant and coffee shop.

With most of the ingredients locally sourced, you can expect the freshest flavors to tickle your palate with every meal. The Pako Pako Salad (P600) was fortunately in season when we went, and the Paella (starts at P1500) was a crowd-favorite, and seconds (and even thirds!) were had from the Seafood Paella (starts at P2010) with clams, mussels, and shrimps. Be sure to try out the Fried Boneless Chicken Inasal (P700), a Bacolod gourmet staple slightly tweaked with their own special inasal marinade. And yes, if you're planning a wedding or a special occasion, they can totally cater to that, too!

5. Hop on a boat ride.

While this technically requires you to set foot outside of the resort, Manami organizes boat tours that you should definitely take advantage of. Explore Negros' crystalline waters and make your way to Tinagong Dagat and Campomanes Bay, all while enjoying your private cruise and playing your chillest soundtrack.

A Boodle Fight can also be prepared on board, turning into a true feast for the senses—from the grilling to the grand presentation, all paired with the signature Lingaw Sangria.

But what truly sets this boat tour apart is that you can opt to snorkel with their resident marine biologist, who not only will guide you and make you feel safe as you paddle in the water, but will also point out specific sea creatures and explain what they are.
