What is it about Anya Resort Tagaytay that keeps drawing guests to visit? One of the only two accredited Filipino properties by the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the wellness resort helmed by President and CEO Santiago Elizalde has not only won global awards but also a deeply loyal clientele with its tropical Filipino charm and top-notch hospitality.
Being welcomed by the bamboo-lined driveway induced a sense of zen that was laced with excitement. I may have seen it on the 'gram countless of times, but what IG stories didn't capture, however, was the cheery "great morning!" greeting from the guard at the entrance that prequeled my memorable stay ahead.

This warmth and attention would echo throughout my visit, making me feel like a valued guest and not just some random boarder. This geniality never came across as insincere nor as an intrusion, either. It was like escaping into your own private sanctuary where you can peacefully retreat and recharge, with a friendly team anticipating your wants and preparing everything so you're comfortable. Needless to say, checking out to leave was bittersweet.

Ahead, here's everything you need to know about finding your home away from home in Anya Resort.

Where Is Anya Resort?
A quick Tagaytay getaway has always been Manileños' go-to for a break from the heat. With its cooler climate and beautiful vistas, families and friends make the drive south to enjoy the fresh air and a good meal. While it used to be an escape from the bustle of the metro, parts of Tagaytay have already been commercialized, offering convenience and creature comforts to its tourists and residents. Anya Resort offers the best of both worlds. Their 7.2 hectares of greenery provide a lush nature escape while still being close to the main highways. Depending on traffic, driving to Tagaytay from Metro Manila can take from an hour and 30 minutes to up to three hours.

What to Do at Anya Resort Tagaytay
It's hard to attribute Anya's charm to just one factor. While service definitely plays a big role, their well-thought-out amenities and design also add to the luxury experience. Check out some of the must-dos below to get the most out of your staycation.
1. Swim at their heated pool.
Swimming may not have been on your Tagaytay bucket list, but hear us out: the pools are heated. This hot and cold contrast is a unique experience that you don't have to fly abroad to experience. Whether you want to get in some laps or just enjoy a relaxing dip, the warm water is a soothing balm for tired bodies and overactive minds.

2. Indulge in a pampering session at Niyama Wellness Center.
Aside from the property raking in awards, their Niyama Wellness Center has also garnered international recognition. A global winner of the World Luxury Spa Awards for the Luxury Sustainable Spa category, the in-house spa boasts a myriad of services that range from massages, facials, scrubs, IV drips, and more.

3. Nourish your body with delicious meals.
Anya Resort's Executive Chef Chris Leaning is a force, and his personality shines in the food the kitchen prepares and the conversations he shares with guests. Helming both Samira by Chele Gonzales and Anila Poolside, the seasoned chef proudly claims that most of their ingredients are local, with only about 20% being imported. Apart from just taste, sustainability is also a factor as they choose to be mindful of their source. Citing the octopus as an example, he notes that Spain has specific rules and regulations on what can be harvested, whereas the Philippines doesn't, which can lead to overreaping and endangering the marine population.

Whether you want to feast on contemporary cuisine or nourish yourself with healthy yet flavorful food, Chef Chris and his team have got you covered. Fun fact: Chef Chris was also behind the cult-favorite ADB Crinkles, so you can purchase this every weekend alongside their freshly-baked bread, too!

4. Commune with nature.
Breathe in the fresh Tagaytay air and enjoy the lush greenery as you walk around the resort. Sure, there are golf carts to take you everywhere, but going on a breezy stroll surrounded by foliage and blooms is an underrated, relaxing activity you can do on your own or with a friend. Don't forget to make a quick stop at the small Sensory Garden, which houses fragrant herbs and fluffy bunnies.

5. Feed your mind with their exclusive programs.
What really sets Anya apart is the amount of care they put in making sure guests can participate in wellness activities. For International Women's Month, they hosted the first Mindful Conversations, with Marilen Elizalde leading the session about nurturing health and unlocking longevity.

This coming Holy Week, they've also curated activities such as Palm Weaving and Candle Making alongside more traditional undertakings such as Sunday masses and Easter Egg Hunts.
6. Check out the Visions in Glass Exhibit.
Running until May 15, 2025, glass sculptures from Museo Orlina have been loaned to the resort for the Visions in Glass exhibit. Marvel at works of renowned artist Ramon Orlina and his children and protégés Michael Orlina and Anna Orlina up close.

7. Host a party.
Chances are, you would love to share your Anya experience with family and friends—and what better way than gathering your nearest and dearest to partake in a memorable milestone? Whether getting hitched or turning a year older, the resort can accommodate your event in the spacious Nilaya Ballroom.

8. Enjoy a luxurious rest.
Of course, with all that said, one of the most luxurious things you can do at Anya is enjoy some much-deserved rest. With their team's attention to detail, your 95% single-use plastic-free room becomes the heart of your experience. An afternoon refreshment of coffee and a light snack is sent over, and they can even draw a relaxing bath in your tub. Their beds are also one of the most comfortable you can try, with just enough softness to melt in, and the right amount of firmness to support your body as you slumber on to dreamland.
