Are you the kind of person who yells “wait!” whenever people reach for the food right after it’s served? Because, of course, you have to take a photo first. Many of us are guilty of doing this, even if we’ve eaten at that restaurant countless of times before.
Well, a restaurant owner has had enough. Located in England, Waterside Inn has banned all food photography. When you enter the three-Michelin-star establishment, you’ll be greeted by a card that says, “No photos, please.”
Co-founder Michel Roux explained to GrubStreet, “What are they doing? Maybe once during the meal you want to take a little photo of something because it’s unusual. But what about the flavors? A picture on a phone cannot possibly capture the flavors.”
Not everyone agrees with Chef Roux’s point of view, though. Gordon Ramsay was livid:
