It’s a small world in the land of K-drama, but some scenes can feel downright poetic. Fans of The Uncanny Counter might see this in its recently released second season, which features the new character Na Jeok-bong among Do Ha-na’s fold. But as eagle-eyed drama enthusiasts know, this isn’t the first time their actors Yoo In Soo and Kim Sejeong have crossed paths!

LOOK: “The Uncanny Counter” Co-Stars Kim Sejeong and Yoo In Soo in School 2017
Before the second season of The Uncanny Counter came around, Yoo In Soo and Kim Sejeong shared the same screen in School 2017. The show delved into the woes of a class of high school students and the high-pressure education system, just as a troublemaker dubbed “Student X” is on the loose.
In the 2017 drama, Sejeong plays the protagonist Ra Eun-ho, a kind-hearted 18-year-old with aspirations of becoming a webtoon artist, caught up with the drama of the mysterious “Student X.” Episode three sees Yoo In Soo portraying Min-joon, an upperclassman who spots Eun-ho on campus. Alongside his school goons, the bully torments the younger girl, snatching her sketchbook mid-drawing.
Fast-forward to 2023, and their characters’ early dynamics couldn’t be more different! Viewers are introduced to In Soo’s Na Jeok-bong, the latest Counter among their squad. Depicted as a boyish young farmer, the character took the blow of an advancing track in an act of noble sacrifice in his earthly life.
In his state of comatose, Jeok-bong is recruited to The Counters, a group of hunters fighting evil spirits in the boundary between the afterlife and the world of the living. As he joined their ranks, a rather clueless Jeok-bong tests out his new gear, with Kim Sejeong’s Do Ha-na pointing a gun at him to lead the group in testing out his “bulletproof” state. It's all in jest, though!
This isn't the first time School 2017 featured one of Sejeong's future co-stars, either. Among the series' cast includes Seol In Ah, who later plays Jin Young-so, the best friend of Sejeong's Shin Ha-ri on Business Proposal. So cool!
The Uncanny Counter and School 2017 are streaming on Netflix.
