It’s official: Tesla is finally making its way to the Philippines. A board-up for the electric vehicle (EV) giant was first spotted at Uptown Parade in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) last Tuesday, September 24.
This marks Tesla's first flagship showroom in the Philippines and the fourth in Southeast Asia, following successful launches in Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.
No exact opening date has been announced, but it has been confirmed to SPOT.ph that it will "open this year."

This doesn’t come as a surprise to those following the EV market as Tesla has started to hire for several key roles in the Philippines, including a Leads Generations Program Manager, a Store Manager, a Project Developer, and a Delivery Operations Specialist on its careers website since early September.
Established in 2003, Tesla is a U.S.-based electric vehicle company founded by engineers Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. Elon Musk joined the company in 2004 as an investor and later became its CEO, steering the company toward its current status as a leader in electric vehicle production and innovation.

This arrival comes as the EV market begins to gain traction in the Philippines. According to the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP), the country has seen a six-fold increase in EV sales in 2023, with the government targeting 6.6 million registered EV units by 2030.
Currently, there are about 15,300 EVs on Philippine roads, but e-motorcycles and electric jeepneys make up the majority.
Although the exact Tesla models coming to the Philippines haven’t been confirmed yet, fans are hopeful to see popular choices like the Model 3 and Model Y—or maybe even the highly anticipated Cybertruck.
