When it comes to the international stage, the Philippines is slowly making a name for itself as a formidable competitor. After securing another gold medal for the country during the Tokyo Olympics in 2023, Team Philippines recently scored another accolade for a different type of olympics. The team placed 11th out of 18 teams and proudly showcased an intricate sugar chocolate sculpture with the theme Pinoy Pride. The sculpture featured elements like the rice terraces, a carabao, a farmer, and an eagle ice sculpture to represent the country's national heritage and highlighted the country's signature flavors like pineapple and rice.

The team was composed of team captain and sugar specialist Chef Gian Aguirre, chocolate specialist Chef Angelyn Dignadice, ice specialist Jerial Encarnado, and their mentor Chef Vergel Iral. The group underwent rigorous training in order to compete in the World Pastry Cup 2025, as not many Filipinos have ever had the change to qualify for the international competition.

Congratulations, Team Philippines! You definitely made the country proud.
