ICYMI, Sunshine Cruz, along with her daughters, recently jetted off to Bali. She’s been posting gorgeous snaps from the trip featuring her with her girls in the cutest summer 'fits. There's been no shortage of her sultry swimsuit OOTDs as well, and she looked glowing as usual!
Her double tap-worthy posts aside, it seems that the Cruz family is in the center of controversy after a netizen commented on one of her posts asking whether her family caused other Bali-bound passengers to be bumped off from business class during the flight.
LOOK: Sunshine Cruz Denies That They Caused Other Bali-Bound Passengers To Be Bumped Off Their Flight
In her post last April 3, she’s seen posing on a bridge with her three daughters, Angelina, Sam, and Chesca. “Bali with my girls,” she wrote in the caption, and netizens couldn’t help but flood the comments section with compliments.
However, one particular comment stood out from the rest. It read, “Kayo po ba ung VIP daw ng PAL? Kaya may hindi nakalipad na commoner?” To which, Sunshine responded, “Booked and paid since 1st week of March.”
A Viral Post Claims They Were "Bumped Off" from Business Class Because of a "Celebrity Family"
The issue that the netizen is referring to is a now-deleted Facebook post of a passenger who claimed they were “bumped off” Business Class by Philippine Airlines to give way to a "celebrity family."
“WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, PHILIPPINE AIRLINES???!!! I bought our tickets back in September 2022 to Bali so my daughter and I can be with our family and friends for Holy Week,” the post read.
Because of the timing, many netizens assumed that the post was alluding to the group including Sunshine Cruz (along with Ruffa Gutierrez, Raymond Gutierrez, Bubbles Paraiso, and their other friends and family).
Philippine Airline Officer Responds to Viral Post
In response, an officer from Philippine Airlines addressed the netizen's complaint, explaining that it isn’t part of the airline's policies to bump off passengers to give way to “high-profile travelers.”
The PAL Officer explained that the flight for that day was overbooked. To manage the situation, they asked all Business Class passengers (including the celebrity family) if they would be willing to switch to a different cabin class at check-in. Because the poster was last to check in, they were identified for downgrade.
However, the PAL Officer also revealed that two other passengers accepted the offer in their place. That allowed the poster to stay in their initial Business Class seats. That meant the poster still got to fly to Bali in Business Class and was never bumped off after all.
