At 46, Sunshine Cruz has a reputation for her timeless beauty in the local entertainment industry. While some fear the passage of time, Sunshine welcomes aging with an open heart and strives to do so gracefully.
"Maraming natatakot na mag-age, pero ako, ang goal ko lang talaga is to age gracefully," she said in an interview with PEP.ph and other members of the press.
Sunshine continued, explaining that this mindset is also why she does not see the need to use a "screen age," unlike some celebrities who try to hide their true age. "Hindi naging question yung age ko. I've always been proud of my age naman."

But just the same, Sunshine is not spared by the bashers. "Kaya nga minsan, di ba sa online, alam naman natin, [sinasabihan ako ng], 'ang tanda mo na...' 'Lola,' 'ganito ka na,' but it doesn't matter, it doesn't affect me."
How does she deal with these comments? Sunshine answered, "Kapag bored ako, nagjo-joke na lang ako. Or minsan, dedma. Ganon na lang."
Sunshine remains unfazed. "Sabi ko nga, it's a blessing. Aging is a blessing. Hindi lahat umaabot sa 46 or 47 na healthy pa rin, syempre it's a blessing to age," she said. "Kasi, nakakasama pa natin at makakasama pa natin nang mas matagal na panahon ang ating mga pamilya."

But on the other side of the coin, more netizens are actually awed by her ageless beauty, with some even claiming she has discovered the secret to "vampire beauty."
Aside from her regular visits to the dermatologist, how does Sunshine maintain her youthful glow? According to her, keeping a positive outlook and having enough sleep are two of the most important steps in her anti-aging routine.
She explained, "I love to sleep. Introvert kasi ako so I'd rather stay at home with my kids, sleep, and I stay away from negativity and drama. Positive ang outlook sa life."
Sunshine also noted the positive effects of supplements and regular workout sessions in her beauty and self-care routine.

"I work out. I work out three to four times a week. I used to box. Pero ngayon iba naman. Soon, in a few months, we'll see a version 2.0 na Sunshine. So I'm working on myself. Yun lang, self-love. Kailangan lang mahalin ang sarili. Yun ang sinasabi ko even before. If you expect a person or people to love you, you have to love yourself first."
Sunshine concludes, saying: "Yun ang ginagawa ko ngayon to stay healthy, fit, not just for myself but for my family."
