If you're a fan of Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, then the K-drama's sequel is sure to interest you! In the original series, Do Bong-soon (Park Bo Young), a woman born with extraordinary strength, accepts a job offer from CEO Ahn Min-hyuk (Park Hyung Sik) to fulfill her dream of becoming a game designer. Though, she instead becomes his bodyguard and falls in love with him in the process. Strong Girl Nam-soon will focus on Bong Soon's distant cousin, Gang Nam-soon.
What is the plot of Strong Girl Nam-soon?
Like her cousin, Nam-soon (Lee Yoo Mi) is a bubbly young woman with superhuman strength. She got lost in Mongolia as a youngin, and she travels to South Korea as an adult in order to search for her parents. Nam-soon eventually meets her mother, Hwang Geum-joo (Kim Jung Eun), and her grandmother, Gil Joong-gan (Kim Hae Sook), in the Gangnam district of Seoul.
She soon discovers that her mother and grandmother also have superhuman strength, and that their family has a long history of using their powers to help others. However, Nam-soon and her family also become entangled in a drug case that Detective Kang Hee-sik (Ong Seong Wu) is investigating.

Lee Yoo Mi as Gang Nam-soon
Gang Nam-soon is kind-hearted, brave, and uses her powers to help others. Baeksang Best New actress awardee Lee Yoo Mi is a familiar face on Netflix, having appeared in Squid Game (2021) and All Of Us Are Dead (2022). She also had roles in films such as Hostage: Missing Celebrity (2021) and Young Adult Matters (2021).
Kim Jung Eun as Hwang Geum-joo
Nam Soon's mother is the rich CEO of Gold Blue, a pawnshop in Gangnam. She is a strong and independent woman and, at the start of the series, in search of her long-lost daughter.
Kim Jung Eun's acting credits include roles in K-dramas like Lovers In Paris (2004), I am Legend (2010), Make a Woman Cry (2015), and My Dangerous Wife (2020). She's also appeared in several films, including Forever the Moment (2008).
Kim Hae Sook as Gil Joong-gan
Nam Soon's maternal grandmother is a wise and respected elder in the Gangnam community. She has a deep understanding of her family's history and powers.
Dubbed as the "Nation's Mother" for having played countless many roles as an eomma (mother), veteran actress Kim Hae Sook has appeared in many notable K-dramas. We have recently seen her in Start-Up (2020), Hospital Playlist (2020), and Under the Queen's Umbrella (2022). She will also appear in Netflix's upcoming original series Gyeongseong Creature alongside Park Seo Joon, Han So Hee, and Wi Ha Joon.
Ong Seong Wu as Kang Hee-sik
Kang Hee-sik is a passionate and dedicated detective who is investigating a drug case in Gangnam. He is initially skeptical of Nam-soon's powers, but he eventually comes to trust her and rely on her help.
Ong Seong Wu nabbed his first leading role in At Eighteen (2019). He has also portrayed characters in Netflix original Seoul Vibe (2017), More Than Friends (2020), and Life Is Beautiful (2022).
Byeon Woo Seok as Ryu Shi-oh
Ryu Shi Oh is the CEO of Dugo, the distribution and sales company. He remains unfazed after witnessing Nam-soon heroically prevent a plane crash, but is he just accepting of her abilities, or is there a more sinister reason?
Beon Woo Seok gained recognition for his leading role in the film 20th Century Girl (2022). He has also appeared in in Live Up to Your Name (2017), Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency (2019), Record of Youth (2020), and Moonshine (2021).
Where can I watch Strong Girl Nam-soon?
The 16-episode series premiered on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Netflix drops two episodes of Strong Girl Nam-soon each weekend, and the final episodes are set to be released in the last weekend of November.
