Stranger Things stans, here’s some good news: Hawkins, Indiana isn’t that far of a leap from our Philippine shores. In fact, you might be able to spot it after a flight away to Singapore, thanks to a brand-new immersive experience.

Helmed by The Mighty Jaxx Group in collaboration with Netflix, Stranger Things - The Encounter: Singapore will pull in visitors to the ominous world of the Upside Down, minus the creepy consequences. From June 30 to October 1, Singapore’s Bugis+ will be home to the interactive encounter, and Preview got first dibs on this exclusive experience. See what to expect below!

What to Expect at Stranger Things - The Encounter: Singapore

1. A first-hand experience of the “Stranger Things” universe

Before entering the Encounter, guests must present the QR code they’ll receive upon booking. After that, they'll be handed a wristband, which they should use to scan to enter the halls.

Once inside, the adventure kicks off at Palace Arcade, where participants are thrown headfirst into an epic (yet slightly creepy!) fantasy game at the Hellfire Club. Next up, they'll have to find their way through Joyce Byers’ living room, where wonky Christmas lights flicker erratically to form a message. You might even catch a few Easter eggs or two.

At The Lab, things will take a chilling turn as a mysterious rift sucks everyone into an even darker realm. Visitors will have a chance to close it up, if they’ll be able to solve a time-pressure game, that is.

Soon after, they’ll land in the imposing presence of Creel House and Vecna, where the story wraps up–for better or worse!

2. A fun scavenger hunt for virtual collectibles

The wristbands on guests’ arms are more than just a pass. Visitors can scan their band throughout different designated areas in the experience, where they can unlock virtual collectibles called “FRGMENTS.” These are counted on their digital XPASS, which guests can use to decorate their own customized merch.

3. Starcourt Mall—in real life

After a rigorous battle in the Upside Down, they’ll be led inside the warm, ’80s-fused, and neon comforts of Starcourt Mall. The F&B and retail zone brings Stranger Things’ much-raved establishments like Scoops Ahoy and Surfer Boy Pizza, presented by Singaporean brands Burnt Cones and Papi’s Tacos.

In Scoops Ahoy, Singaporean ice cream flavors are there for the tasting, including Milo Dinosaur atop Eleven’s favorite Waffle or Eddie’s Hellfire Cone. Fun fact: They even have the Filipino go-to ube flavor on the menu!

For something more savory, Surfer Boy Pizza offers up slices of Singapore Stranger, a localized take on pizza topped with braised beef brisket and rendang sauce. Those on the divisive side of the pineapple-on-pizza debate can try out Surfer Boy, with chicken pepperoni, pickled jalapenos, and pineapple. Meanwhile, spice enthusiasts can opt for the Hellfire Club, which comes with with chilli oil atop mozzarella cheese and sundried tomatoes.
