We recently showed you some small coffee makers you can shop now if you don't have space at home for a full-blown, industrial-sized espresso machine. Here's another compact brewer to consider if you want to make espresso-level brews minus the bulky machine: The SteepShot is a manual brewing device that lets you whip up great cups of coffee in no time and it's locally available through official Philippine distributor Yardstick Coffee!
SteepShot Coffee Maker
The SteepShot is a full immersion coffee-brewer first introduced in 2020 through project-funding company Kickstarter. The device uses pressure to push water through medium-fine coffee grounds—not unlike the electric espresso machines you would find at your fave café—and it does that in just one handy dandy tool that you can fit inside your bag. The pressure allows the water to penetrate the coffee grounds as efficiently, resulting in a strong, flavorful brew and reducing brew time when compared to manual coffee makers like a dripper or Vietnamese coffee maker. The method’s quick brewing process also eliminates the possibility of coffee grounds reacting to the water for too long (a.k.a. over-extraction), which is what commonly causes that bitter coffee taste most of us are trying to avoid. You'll have a blast using it (and drinking your freshly brewed coffee) every single morning!
Here's a closer look at the device:
