It pays tribute to the Florendo House!

Every Starbucks store has its own beauty and charm—but, admittedly, some have more charm than others. If you've already crossed off the modernistic Starbucks Reserve Hiraya from your list, the international coffee chain recently opened a new store with old-world charm in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. On your next road trip to the North, make sure to drop by the new Starbucks Balay Mestizo Vigan.

Check out the new Starbucks in Vigan City:

Starbuck writes about the new branch in a Facebook post. Named Starbucks Balay Mestizo Vigan, this new branch is said to pay tribute to the "Florendo House" (presumably the Villa Angela Heritage House, which was ordered built by gobernadorcillo Agapito B. Florendo in 1870), by "harmoniously uniting history and [the] coffee experience."

The exteriors of Starbucks Balay Mestizo seamlessly blend in with the charming ancestral houses of Calle Crisologo. Although its facade is centuries old, the insides are injected with new life and a contemporary look with the patterned floor tiles, beige walls, wooden ceilings and chairs, marble table counters, a muted blue accent wall counter, and pieces of striking art hung on the walls.

Vigan City, ICYDK, is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. If you've visited, you'd agree the city is like a time capsule from the 16th century where Spanish colonial towns are preserved. And the architecture? It's this beautiful mix of Filipino, Chinese, European, and Mexican influences that make it truly one-of-a-kind in East and Southeast Asia.

Starbucks Balay Mestizo Vigan is at Calle Crisologo corner Calle Salcedo, Balay Mestizo, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. Open from Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and from Friday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. For more information, visit Starbucks Philippines' Facebook page.
