But did you know that, almost a year since Squid Game: The Challenge was filmed, Mai still hasn't received her prize money? Filming for the series began in January 2023 across two studios in the UK, but as of writing, the promised $4.56 million has yet to find its way into the winner's bank account.
The contractual agreement stipulates a 30-day window post-finale for the payout. That said, Mai is set to finally enjoy her millionaire status no later than January 5, 2024. Whether she will receive the considerable sum in one lump sum or in increments remains unknown, but as the date approaches, the world will soon witness the realization of her hard-earned triumph.
