According to a recent report by News1, Song Hye Kyo’s building investment in Seoul’s upscale Hannam-dong district has significantly increased in value. The actress, best known for her roles in Descendants of the Sun and The Glory, purchased a five-story building for 19.5 billion Korean won in April 2021, approximately P820 million at that time.
The News1 report detailed that Hye Kyo paid for the building with a combination of cash (11.5 billion won) and a bank loan (8.5 billion won). After three years, the building’s market price has surged to over 25.5 billion won (approximately P1.075 billion), a remarkable 6 billion won (P255 million) increase from her original investment.

The building is located near Hannam The Hill, one of Seoul’s most prestigious residential areas. The property, which includes tenants like high-end restaurants and a Michelin-starred Korean eatery, is now considered prime real estate, thanks to its strategic location and the rapid appreciation in land value.
Industry experts explain that real estate prices in the area have been rising, with similar properties seeing a 25 percent increase in market price over recent years. The report cites Building Road Real Estate Brokerage, which analyzed the current market conditions and reportedly confirmed that Hye Kyo's investment has paid off handsomely.
