It’s opening week for Heart Evangelista’s return to primetime, and all eyes are glued to the Kapuso channel's "I Left My Heart in Sorsogon." Aside from Heart’s chic wardrobe, the talented cast, and the beguiling storyline, Sorsogon, the romcom’s unspoken star, is definitely stealing the spotlight.
Whether wistfully watching the waves by the beach, driving along an endless sea of coconut trees, and enjoying serene moments by the lake, Richard Yap’s character, Tonito, seems spot on: “Sorsogon is paradise.”
With travel restrictions lifting, it may be opportune to start exploring our country again. Why not start with Celeste’s hometown? Not only is it the number one pili nut-producing province according to the show, it also contains ornate antique churches, as well as jaw-dropping natural wonders. We found the perfect boutique hotel in the heart of Sorsogon City, too! Fair warning, though, it may be too pretty to leave.
Nestled inside a coconut plantation, Siama is a nature-inspired boutique hotel that masterfully weaves contemporary comforts while maintaining (and prioritizing!) a tranquil and rejuvenating environment. The property not only nurtures local fauna, they are also home to a diverse wildlife, and even have turkeys as in-house pets. “There are also many birds roaming and singing around especially every morning and by the evening you'll be able to hear crickets and if lucky enough, see fireflies,” Siama tells Preview.
Far from roughing it out, however, your home away from home boasts of chic, IG-worthy accommodations. Totally relaxing and pleasing to the eye, the interiors embrace a minimalist, bright and airy design aesthetic that accentuates the wooden furnishings. Its rustic charm aims to inspire a break from the hustle and bustles of the modern world, and invite you to take a breath and be fully present in the moment. “That is why our WiFi is limited to our dining area only, and we don't set-up televisions inside the hotel rooms,” Siama adds.
Instead, you can enjoy a refreshing swim by the pool, pre-arrange a poolside yoga class, bask in the crisp air, and invigorate with their free-flowing coffee. Rooms start at P6500 a night and is inclusive of breakfast.
Siama Hotel is located at Sitio San Lorenzo, Bibincahan, Sorsogon City, Sorsogon, Philippines
