She suggests a fine of up to P500,000 and 10 years in jail.

"Sen. Risa Hontiveros wants members of Facebook groups sharing obscene photos of women and children penalized with up to P500,000 and [sentenced] up to 10 years in prison," reports Julliane Love De Jesus on Inquirer.net.

The report noted: "Hontiveros made the declaration after concerned citizens exposed several groups connected with the Facebook page, Pastor Hokage Bible Study."

"These people have no right to enjoy our internet freedom only to abuse our women and children. We will not allow them to shame our young women, suppress their right to express themselves through social media, and contribute to a culture of misogyny and hate," Hontiveros said.

Hontiveros is the chair of the Senate committee on women, which is set to conduct an investigation on the prevalence of the misogynistic online forums.
