A Luxury cruise ship is as much a destination as it is tranport, especially since most of them feature onboard attractions that are fun to try while you're out on the high seas. To carry more on-deck facilities, Royal Caribbean International just built the world's biggest cruise ship called the Icon of the Seas. It sets sail by January 2024. The price starts at $1703 (approx. P94,194.63) per person for a seven-night round-trip tour traversing Florida.

Icon of the Seas measures nearly 1,200 feet long and has a projected weight of 250,800 tonnes. With its large scale, it can board 5,610 passengers and 2,350 crew. The vessel was built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland.

Aside from the title "World's Biggest Cruise Ship," it's also dubbed the "Largest Waterpark on the Sea." Since the cruise last for seven days, you can stop by all seven pools at Icon of the Seas—one pool for each day. There's the Royal Bay, the largest pool at sea; The Hideaway, the first suspended infinity pool at sea; Swim & Tonic, the largest swim-up bar at sea; the Cloud 17, an adults-only pool on the top deck; Suite Neighborhood, a two-story sun deck with a private pool and hot tub.

The cruise ship has thrilling activities for adrenaline junkies, such as the Crown's Edge, which has a skywalk; the Flowrider, for those who want to learn how to surf; then there's Surfside, which has arcades, rides, and a strictly only-teens. While for dazzling entertainment, there's Absolute Zero, which is the biggest ice arena at sea; the Aquadome, a water show that highlights a shapeshifting waterfall.

For those who are interested in music, the cruise ship houses Dueling Pianos, which is a piano bar; Lou's Jazz 'N Blues, which is a restaurant with live jazz music; Rye & Bean, which serves coffee-infused cocktails; Overlook, which is a two-level floor-to-ceiling lounge with glass walls; Music Hall, which has a live rock band and dance floor; Spotlight Karaoke, which is basically a public karaoke.

Other establishments within the ship include Point & Feather, which is an English pub; Casino Royale, which has 30 table games and 360 hot slot machines, bar-top video poker; and The Attic, a comedy club.

Icon of the Seas has over 20 dining options, which should cover any kind of craving within the seven-day cruise—from Italian, Mexican, to Japanese. Not to mention, all kinds of watering holes.

The dining establishments include Empire Supper Club, Celebration Table, Dining Room, Chops Grille, Giovanni's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, Hooked Seafood, Surfside Eatery, Pier 7, Surfside Bites, Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, Windjammer, Aquadome Market, Izumi in the Park, Basecamp, Pearl Cafe, Sorrento's, Park Cafe, El Loco Fresh. While for the pubs and bars, there's the al-fresco Tellis Bar, the 1400 Lobby Bar, BubblesSM, Point & Feather, and Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade.

How Much Is a Cruise Trip on the Icon of the Seas?

Icon of the Seas has different rooms, all with different views and headcounts. The Outside View is the cheapest, followed by the Interior, Balcony, and the most expensive, the Suite rooms.

Icon of the Seas' rates start at $1703 per person (approximately P94,194.63) for the Eastern Caribbean & Perfect Day. This is a seven-night trip that goes through Miami Florida, Philipsburg, St. Maarten, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas, and back to Miami Florida.

There's also another Eastern Caribbean & Perfect Day which goes through a different route and is pricier at $1805 per person (approx. P99,836.36). and traverses through Miami, Florida, Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas, and returns to Miami, Florida.

The Western Caribbean & Perfect Day costs $1714 per person (approximately P94,803.05). The route also starts at Miami, Florida, and goes through Roatan, Honduras, Puerto Costa Maya, Mexico, Cozumel, Mexico, Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas, and back to Miami, Florida.

The most expensive is the other route for Western Caribbean & Perfect Day. Priced at $1924 per person (approximately P106,418.36), this cruise's route goes through Miami, Florida, Puerto Costa Maya, Mexico, Cozumel, Mexico, and Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas before going back to Miami, Florida.
