Remember the '90s lore?

It's the Year of the Snake according to the Chinese zodiac, and to mark the occasion, Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. (RRHI)  chairman and director Robina Gokongwei-Pe poked fun at herself by posting a photo with-guess who?-her legendary python twin.

On a Monday morning, while some are probably enjoying tikoy with their coffee, the lady chief had her Facebook friends and followers in stitches with her hilarious photo captioned, "Look who finally decided to come out of hiding. My shining, shimmering golden twin (with his pretty in pink girlfriend)!"

In the '90s, whispers of Robina's python twin sent shivers down the spines of unsuspecting shoppers at Robinsons Galleria. According to the lore, which eventually became an urban legend, her twin bro lays golden eggs, and is the source of the family's wealth.

Legend also had it that the mall's dressing rooms held a sinister secret. The snake man would check out beautiful women via the hidden cameras installed in the department store fitting rooms. The women would be held in a trapdoor and offered as sacrifices to the python man.

This spawned another urban legend that Alice Dixson, the original Dyesebel star, actually encountered the "taong ahas" at Robinsons Galleria some 30 years ago. She later refuted this tale to be untrue in a YouTube video.

Robina admitted in a previous interview that she wasn't thrilled to hear stories about the mythical serpent back in the day. But through the years, it's obvious that she has grown out of it.

The lady boss addressed the infamous urban legend during a speech at the UP School of Economics over ten years ago. "I have no idea who started this incredible story, but I have to tell you that some people believed it and even started staring at my legs to see if there were any signs of snakeskin. A few people still ask me about it, and I have to tell them na naging handbag na ho sa Robinsons Department Store," she said.
