As we all probably know by now, Rei Germar has a designer bag arsenal that any fashion girl would envy. The Preview 50 Most Influential Style Icon honoree has some of the most covetable arm candies from almost all big-ticket luxury houses, and her collection just keeps growing.
During her recent trip to Singapore with her beau Migy Romulo, Rei shared how excited she was to finally complete her lineup of Chanel bags. The influencer was looking forward to owning a small Le Boy bag in the beige colorway. But instead of bringing home the coveted purse, she had her own Pretty Woman moment instead when a sales associate allegedly discriminated against her and withheld her from making her dream purchase.

In her most recent YouTube vlog, Rei narrated her experience. "We went to Marina Bay Sands looking for a Le Boy na small, kasi that's the only missing Chanel [bag] in my collection, and 'yun 'yung gustong birthday gift ni Migy sa'kin," the YouTuber shared.
According to Rei, a sales associate helped her find the exact bag and offered it to her. Rei, however, wanted to think things through before making the splurge. She said: "It's a big purchase. Sabi ko kay Migy, 'I want to sleep on it.' Ayaw ko kasi yung bili lang agad. 'Balikan na lang natin, ang lapit lang naman.' I just wanted to think about it."
The next day, she and Migy returned to the boutique ready to finally get the bag. Though, this time around, a different sales associate came to assist them and informed Rei that the bag wasn't available.
"I went there, there was a sales associate [and] she asked me [about] what I was looking for. [I said,] 'I'm looking for a beige [Le Boy] bag.' And then she said, 'Oh there's none. There's just [a] black one.'"
Rei also pointed out that, during this visit, she wasn't dressed nicely, which she cited could've been the reason for the unpleasant treatment. "Panget yung suot ko. Alam ko sa sarili ko na hindi okay yung suot ko," she said. This led the 25-year-old to assume that the associate must have judged her looks, and so she wasn't keen on selling the bag to her.
Even after showing proof that she tried on the Le Boy a day prior, the SA contested, saying, "There's just one piece left, and we need it for color reference, so we can't sell it to you.'"
In the end, Rei left the store feeling humiliated, with no Le Boy in her hands. "I felt that my face was red and my ears were hot. Para akong napahiya. Parang ganoon yung feeling. Nangyayari pala 'yon. Bakit sila nang-ja-judge?" she expressed.
The couple ended up visiting a different branch instead. Thankfully, they found a different bag for Rei to bring home. Instead of a Le Boy, Rei got a Chanel 22 Backpack, which she professed she was happy with nonetheless.
