It looks like a Philippine adaptation of What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim is finally in the works!
The news broke out hours ago when TV director Mark Sicat Dela Cruz reportedly posted a lineup of upcoming television productions in a now-deleted IG story. “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? (PH Adaptation)” was listed at the bottom of the photo, and it’s slated to have a September 2023 release date.
From the looks if it, the series is being produced by ABS-CBN in collaboration with the streaming service Viu.
No other details or cast members have actually been announced so far, but netizens are convinced that Kim Chiu was chosen for the titular role months ago. Rumors started circulating in March when the actress posted a series of photos with Dreamscape Entertainment Head Deo Endrinal.
Eagle-eyed fans of the actress pointed out what looked like the Korean poster of What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim being flashed on the TV screen behind them, which launched speculations around the possible show and casting choice.
Last April, talk of Enrique Gil stepping into the shoes of Park Seo Joon's character Lee Young-joon also circulated online. However, TV and news presenter MJ Felipe quickly quashed the gossip, stating the information was completely false. “To set the record straight, Enrique Gil is not working on rumored PH adaptation of the popular K-Drama series 'What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?’,” he wrote on Twitter. “Enrique is still working closely with Dreamscape Entertainment for his upcoming projects and announcements will be made in the future.”
