International travel is back! As pandemic lockdowns continue to ease, getting a passport is a must if you plan to fly abroad.
First-time passport applicants need to present valid IDs at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). All IDs should be readable, untampered, and consistent with other application documents.
Applicants are also asked to bring the original and photocopies of the IDs and other supporting documents.
Applying for a passport? Present any of the following with one photocopy, according to the DFA:
- SSS ID
- UMID
- LTO Driver's License or Student Permit in card form
- PRC ID
- PhilID or National ID
- OWWA/iDOLE Card
- Voter's ID or Voter's Certificate
- PNP Firearms License
- Airman License
- School ID or Certificate of Enrollment (with photo of the minor and dry seal of school) if ID is not yet available*
- Postal ID
- Senior Citizen ID
- Seafarer's Record Book or Seafarer's Identity Document
