The Korean entertainment industry mourns the loss of Park Ji Ah, who passed away this September 30 at 2:50 a.m., Seoul time. An actress whose filmography encompasses more than two decades, Ji Ah was reported to have succumbed to a cerebral infarction.

1. She graduated from the Seoul Institute of the Arts
Ji Ah was born in Seoul on February 25, 1972. She earned her degree at the Seoul Institute of Fine Arts, which was also attended by the likes of Seol In Ah, Kim Seon Ho, Son Ye Jin, and more.
2. She was a close collaborator of director Kim Ki Duk
Ji Ah began her acting career in the early 2000s. Notably, she was consistently cast in the works of late Korean film director Kim Ki Duk. Some of his titles she's starred in include The Coast Guard, 3-Iron, and Breathe. Ji-ah gained critical acclaim for her role in the latter, which vied for a Palme D'or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.

3. She was featured in dramas "Suspicious Partner" and "Judge vs. Judge"
Venturing into the small screen, Ji Ah has played several supporting roles in popular K-dramas such as Suspicious Partner, Judge vs. Judge, and Bloody Heart.
4. She played Song Hye Kyo's mother in "The Glory"
The actress' last appearance on TV was on the hit Netflix series The Glory. In the revenge drama, she played Jung Mi-hee, the neglectful mother to Song Hye Kyo's Moon Dang-eun.

5. She was 52 years old
In their official statement, Ji Ah's agency Billions Entertainment expressed that "they will forever remember the passion of the late Park Ji Ah, who loved acting until the very end." She was 52 at the end of her battle with cerebral infarction.
