The Korean music industry is in mourning after confirmation of the death of Park Bo Ram.
The singer, who rose to fame after her debut in 2014, had been a prominent fixture in soundtracks of K-dramas, including Reply 1988 and Touch Your Heart. To honor her life and celebrate her legacy, ahead are five things to know about Bo Ram.

1. Bo Ram was a multi-nominated and awarded singer.
The musician earned accolades at the Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards in August of 2014, when she won the Artist of the Year award. Among the rest of her nominations include Best New Artist nods at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Golden Disc Awards, and Melon Music Awards (MMA).

2. Bo Ram took part in a reality show.
She was introduced to the Korean entertainment industry as a contestant in the competition series SuperStar K2 in 2010. There, Bo Ram earned the Top 8 spot and was later signed and trained in agencies like Jellyfish Entertainment, and later, MMO Entertainment (now WakeOne), which manages acts like Zerobaseone and Kep1er.
3. Bo Ram’s official debut song was with rapper Zico.
The singer made her official debut with the song “Beautiful,” which was a collaboration with rapper Zico. The track would later lead to her Artist of the Year win and nomination, and it also landed a peak chart position at number 2 on Gaon.
4. Park Bo Ram sang for several K-drama soundtracks.
Throughout her singing career, Bo Ram is best known as the voice behind several soundtracks of hit K-dramas. Before her official debut, the star lent her voice to “Palpitations” for Playful Kiss in 2011, and recorded the track “Always” for the 2011 series 49 Days. Months after releasing “Beautiful,” Bo Ram became a part of the soundtrack for the Hyun Bin-starring Hyde Jekyll, Me.
Later on, Bo Ram released one of her popular songs “Hyehwadong” for Reply 1988. She also features on the Prison Playbook soundtrack with the song ‘Like A Dream.” The rest of her discography includes music for W, Introverted Boss, Man to Man, About Time, Touch Your Heart, and Once Again.

5. Bo Ram was 30 years old.
The singer passed away at the age of 30, as confirmed by her agency XANADU Entertainment in a statement. A cause of death has not been determined as of writing.
“It’s true that Park Bo Ram died on April 11,” stated the agency. “The cause of death is currently being investigated by the police.”
