Get in, loser. We’re going to the movies!

Ready your pink outfits and sharpen those witty comebacks because The Plastics are back, and they're meaner than ever!

Paramount Pictures has just dropped the first look trailer for the new Mean Girls movie. And as much as we were all thrilled to see it, it also left viewers with tons of questions. Will there be surprises in store for us? Clearly, the limit does not exist. But below, we list down everything we know so far about the 2024 Mean Girls reboot.

5 Things to Know About the New "Mean Girls" Movie

1. It’s a musical.

That’s right. It isn’t a prequel or a sequel; it’s the movie version of the 2018 Broadway adaptation of the iconic 2004 comedy. And if you’ve already watched the trailer and didn’t get the memo, you’re not alone. We all noticed the lack of music. Now, as to why they chose not to include any of the singing in the initial trailer, we’re not so sure either.

2. Renée Rapp is taking on the role of Regina George.

And this isn’t her first time, mind you. Renée Rapp played Regina George in the Broadway adaptation of the film from September 2019 to March 2020 when the production closed. This role is what turned her into a household name on Broadway, so it’s no wonder she’s the face of the movie’s poster.

3. Meet the rest of the dream team.

Angourie Rice will be starring as our favorite mathlete turned Plastic, Cady Heron (originally played by Lindsay Lohan). While our favorite friend duo, Janis and Damian, will be played by Auli’i Cravalho and Jaquel Spivey. Who plays Aaron Samuels, one of the hottest and most popular guys in North Shore High, you ask? None other than The Summer I Turned Pretty heartthrob Christopher Briney.

4. We’ll be seeing some familiar faces, too.

While a majority of the Mean Girls cast will be played by different actors, some familiar faces are making a triumphant return. Tina Fey, who penned both the film and the stage musical, will be coming back on-screen to play her original role as Ms. Norbury, and fellow comedian, Tim Meadows, will also be returning as Principal Duvall
