For those of you wondering who the woman in the photo is, netizens in the comments section of Veronica’s post revealed her to be Belen Ocampo, the mother of Filipino public historian Ambeth Ocampo.
Netizens were so amazed by their resemblance that they were urging other users to tag Ambeth Ocampo in the post. Other netizens even started believing in the supernatural, claiming she might truly be the reincarnation of Belen Ocampo.
“Hala! Parang copy-paste. Maybe reincarnation is true,” commented one netizen, to which Veronica replied, “what iffff.”
Meanwhile, another netizen brought up the possibility that maybe they’re related somehow. “Grabe kamukhang kamukha… hindi kaya magkamaganak kayo?” she wrote.
In an interview with Veronica published on Pilipino Star Ngayon Digital, she shared that it was her very first time visiting the National Museum since she’s based in Davao City. Finding a portrait that looked identical to her features was the last thing she was expecting. She shared, "We were just casually looking and appreciating all the artworks. Actually [joke joke] ko lang talaga yun na parang ako, but after seeing the photo sinabi ko sa officemate ko bakit parang ako?! sabi nila [oo nga] and then yun na nag picture ako together with the photo without even knowing kung sino yun."
"Kumbaga sa dami namang art pieces sa Museum, dun pa ako napadpad. I think it was an immediate reaction, like, very quick realization na parang hawig ko siya, and after that I can’t stop looking at our photo," she continued.
"I’m even wondering if this is my second life. Pero I feel so honored that they are calling [it] like a reincarnation because Belen Ocampo is such a fine woman. After reading all the details about her [and] seeing the posts of Mr. Ambeth’s mom, I was really fascinated and hoping I would have a bright future and a happy life just like [his] Mom Belen Ocampo," she added.

Ambeth Ocampo reshared the viral post on his Facebook page, acknowledging Veronica’s resemblance to his mom. “Trending on TikTok video this morning was the post of Veronica Balayo, a recent visitor to the National Museum who resembles a photo-oleo of my mother from the 1950s! The video has earned over 400,000 likes!” he wrote in the caption.
