3. It’s directed by Byun Sung Hyun.

ICYDK, Byun Sung Hyun is a brilliant South Korean director, writer, and actor. He has won several awards for his past movies such as The Merciless (2017), which won the Blue Dragon Film Award for Best Cinematography and was even presented at the Cannes Film Festival. His 2022 film Kingmaker also helped him bag the Grand Bell Award for Best Director and the Baeksang Arts Award for Best Film Director. 4. It features tons of badass women.

Not only does it feature Jeon Do Yeon as the female lead. Other killer female cast members are just as cool. Kim Sia for example plays Gil Jae-Young, Gil Boksoon’s strong-minded, rebellious teenage daughter. Then there’s Esom who plays Cha Min-Hee, the director of the killer agency. Albeit being portrayed as the villain, she still kicks ass in her own right. It’s just the movie to watch before International Women’s Month ends.

If you love the John Wick franchise or are a fan of  Quentin Tarantino’s movies, then you’re going to love this. It has the same fast-paced action that we see in John Wick and the beautiful storytelling and cinematography we see in Tarantino flicks. The director also revealed that he looked for inspiration from Lee Myung Se, a South Korean director who created Nowhere to Hide and Duelist

6. It’s Jeon Do Yeon’s first action movie.

Jeon Do Yeon has a long list of melodramas in her filmography, so it’s a given that with her experience, expressing emotions is practically effortless for her. But it just so happens that Kill Boksoon is her first action movie. She had to put a lot of effort into it physically, especially since she did most of her stunts herself, which she admits made her nervous. “I was quite scared and unsure but I kept telling myself that I have to pull it off no matter what. No matter what happens, I’m going to get this done,” she said.
