Nectar Nightclub, a popular hangout for members of the LGBTQIA+ community located at the Fort Strip in Bonifacio Global City, is closing down permanently. The nightclub made the announcement in its social media pages on Sunday (November 17).
"Due to The Fort's upcoming closure, our final night of operation will be December 31st," the statement said. "It's the end of an era, but also a moment to celebrate the unforgettable experiences we've shared."
It's been announced that the Fort Strip, where Nectar is located is undergoing redevelopment. The commercial lot in the middle of BGC, where there are a number of restaurants and bars, is owned by the Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation.
What is Nectar Nightclub?
Nectar first opened in October 2016, "creating a safe, vibrant queer space that quickly grew into a community." The club underwent a major overhaul and reopened In September 2019 as Nectar 2.0.
Over the years the cub has become one of the most popular LGBTQ-friendly clubs in Manila, and has become home to a number of drag performers who have gone on to find fame in shows like Drag Race Philippines and Drag Den.

"Through every beat, every celebration, and every friendship made, Nectar has been more than just a nightclub-it's been a second home for all of us," the club said.
The club said it is hosting a series of farewell shows and productions over the next few weeks, culminating in a New Year's Eve party that will also serve as its final evening before it officially closes down on January 1, 2025.
However, the club's owners and operators teased that this might not be the end of the club and that its next chapter-Nectar 3.0-might be coming soon.
