Have you ever tried taking photos of the night sky, only to be disappointed by how your phone camera can't give justice to how pretty the moon and stars actually looked? Well, you're not alone. Luckily, NASA regularly provides us with the best celestial snaps, and just recently, they shared a slew of new pictures that perfectly captured just how marvelous the universe is—and it proves how there are so many parts of it we have yet to see.
"Today, we present humanity with a groundbreaking new view of the cosmos from the James Webb Space Telescope—a view the world has never seen before,” NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said in their official statement.
Launched into space on Christmas day of 2021, the James Webb Space Telescope was specifically tasked to "conduct infrared astronomy," which, in lay man's terms, is to observe astronomical figures using radiation. Think of it as NASA's most advanced camera in space, if you willl.

The telescope's view was so precise that it was able to capture multitudes of galaxies that, according to NASA, are only being seen by humanity now. Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, emphasized just how historic a moment like this is. He goes on to state: "It took decades of drive and perseverance to get us here, and I am immensely proud of the Webb team. It’s a stunning glimpse of the insights yet to come." How exciting!
