Nadine Lustre has been a constant face at different fashion events abroad. Last March, she and Pia Wurtzbach represented the Philippines at the prestigious Bulgari Studio global event held at the Theatre des Lumieres in Seoul, South Korea.
Speaking to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Nadine described the experience as "really fun." At the event, Nadine was thrilled to meet K-pop superstars, including Lalisa Manoban from BLACKPINK and Kim Mingyu from SEVENTEEN.
Although tempted to fangirl over Lisa during the event, Nadine chose to respect her space and refrained from approaching her. She said, "I guess with the Korean artists kasi, noong nakita ko si Lisa, si Lisa lang talaga kasi kilala ko. Of course, I mean, sino ba naman ang hindi nakakakilala sa kanya, di ba?"
"Pero, noong nakita ko kasi siya, even though I wanted to try and take a photo with her, in a way parang ni-respect ko na lang din. Kasi noong time na maraming nagpapa-picture sa kanya, nakaupo siya sa table nila."
"So parang ako naman, hindi naman sa nahihiya pero, as an artist also, parang I didn't want to be part of the group of people na nakapila to get photos with her."
Nadine shared that there were several moments when she could have snapped a photo with Lisa. However, she deliberately refrained from doing so out of respect for Lisa's personal space during the event.
She continued, "Tapos merong time, nasa may railing kami, paglingon ko nandoon si Lisa sa may likod ko, pero kumakain siya. So yung time na yun, naiisip ko na rin na, 'Magpa-picture kaya ako?' But then, she was eating. So, parang ako, 'A, she's having a human moment.'
"So, I don't want to [disturb], I respect [her space]," she went on. "Ako naman, if I do get a chance to meet someone, like some of my idols and whatnot, if it's like a good time to ask for a favor, like ask for a photo, or just talk to them, ako okay na ako makamayan yung mga idols ko. Masaya na ako sa ganon. I respect them."
