We're totally convinced!

In the age of streaming and the “binge model,” Disney+ is one platform that leans into a more traditional approach with its usual weekly releases. However, one slight exception might just be the new K-drama Moving, as its first seven episodes were uploaded all in one go—and according to speculations, there might be a specific reason why.

Warning: The article below might contain spoilers.

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, the supernatural drama delves into the high-powered lives of three high school students who possess special abilities inherited from their equally skilled parents.

Aside from its intriguing premise and source material, the drama became an anticipated highlight due to its star-studded cast. Topping the roster of cast members includes the likes of Miracle in Cell No. 7’s Ryoo Seung Ryong, W and Happiness’s Han Hyo Joo, and early-aughts star Jo In Sung, who marked his return to the small screen as a lead since 2014’s It's Okay That's Love.

In Sung, in particular, plays Kim Doo-shik, a veteran agent with flying skills dubbed “Moonsan,” who has a teenage son named Bong-seok (Lee Jung Ha) with the same ability. But despite In Sung’s notable presence during the show’s press tour and promos, it won’t be amiss for viewers of the series to notice that his character barely appears in the first few episodes.

During the course of the seven episodes, the series delves into the present reality—Bong-seok’s mom Lee Mi-hyeon (Han Hyo Joo) is a single parent, and his dad was hardly discussed. However, an emotional moment during episode seven changes this, after an outburst from Bong-seok, claiming that he wanted to “fly.”

Distraught, his mom asks if he wished to become “like his father,” with Bong-seok noting that this was the only time she had mentioned him to her son.

The scene then transitions to glimpses of Bong-seok’s dreamlike memories of him as a child in the sky, with his dad coming in from the distance, embracing him mid-air. This marks the first appearance of In Sung in the series, minutes away from the end of episode seven.

“Now we know why #DisneyPlus dropped an unusually large number of 7 episodes for the launch of #Moving — Jo In Sung would not be seen until the end of epi 7,” one fan account wrote.

“Otherwise, JIS fans would have gone amok not even seeing a glimpse of him!”

It’s expected that Moving will unravel more of the backstories of characters like Doo-shik and Mi-hyeon, as the 20-part series will release two new episodes every Wednesday, with its final three episodes set to release on September 20. We, for one, can’t wait to see more of them!
