The Miss Universe 2024 pageant is set to occur in Mexico City this coming November 18. The competition is fierce, with queens from all over the globe each making strong cases to succeed Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua.
The fanfare over pageantry is ingrained in almost every Filipino. In this year's edition, fans will feel surges of pride from not just one but four candidates with Pinoy blood! Meet each of them below.
All the Filipinas Competing at Miss Universe 2024
Chelsea Manalo, Miss Universe Philippines
Our homegrown delegate is none other than Chelsea Manalo, who made herstory as the first Miss Universe Philippines with Black descent. Hailing from Bulacan, the 25-year-old nearly quit during her run in the local competition due to a lack of resources. However, she was more than glad to see the whole thing through, and she emerged victorious thanks to the help of her team and fellow candidates.

Victoria Velasquez Vincent, Miss Universe New Zealand
Victoria Velasquez Vincent represented Bacoor, Cavite at Miss Universe Philippines 2024. VVV, as she's fondly called by fans, originally competed in the 2021 edition of the pageant, where she placed third. Shortly after, she was offered to represent her father's home country of New Zealand, although she declined at the time. This time around, after finishing in the top 10 of Miss Universe Philippines 2024, VVV competed and won at Miss Universe New Zealand.

Christina Chalk, Miss Universe Great Britain
Filipina-Brit Christina Chalk made it to the Top 20 of Miss Universe Philippines 2024. Despite not clinching the crown, she persisted in finding a way to make it to the global stage in Mexico. And she did, having won Miss Universe Great Britain 2024! In an Instagram post celebrating her win, she said, "Here's to never giving up on yourself or your dreams."

Shereen Ahmed, Miss Universe Bahrain
Miss Universe Bahrain is one of the newer franchises of the pageant, having just launched last 2021. Their representative this year is half-Filipina TV presenter and model Shereen Ahmed. She's previously expressed how Michelle Dee was actually one of her inspirations to pursue pageantry, sharing that, "watching her journey inspired me and reignited my passion for pageantry, giving me hope during difficult times."
