In case you missed it, a video featuring Anne Jakrajutatip telling Thai and Filipino beauty pageant fans to "move on" has recently gone viral, following Michelle Dee's top 10 finish in the Miss Universe 2023 competition. Unsurprisingly, many fans did not take this message lightly.
Michelle is now back in the Philippines and has just appeared in an episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, where she finally shared her thoughts on the viral video.

In the viral video, Anne is seen pulling Michelle towards the camera. While she primarily spoke in Thai, the words "move on" and the mention of the countries Thailand and the Philippines—who were most affected by the entire Top 5 announcement mishap—were clear. Many viewers found this quite disrespectful, and some even thought Anne was mocking Michelle in a way.
Like a true beauty queen, Michelle graciously addressed the video, stating, "I feel like Miss Universe is essentially alive because of the supporters, [and] because of everybody that is so passionate [about it]. Even though she might not have had bad intentions, the way it was executed, delivered... it could've been better."
“I frankly think there's always a better way to be more respectful to the fans," she added. “Do I believe that it was done with malicious intent? I try to see the best in everybody." Spoken like a true queen!
In the same Fast Talk episode, Michelle also had the chance to "answer" the final question in Miss Universe 2023. It took her 45 seconds to answer the question, and her person of choice was none other than Apo Whang-Od, the very inspiration for her final gown.
Aside from finishing in the Top 10 in the Miss Universe 2023 competition, Michelle also won four special awards: The Spirit of Carnival Award, the Voice for Change video competition, the Miss Universe fan vote, and Best in National Costume.
