There are notable fictional characters and series that have raised generations. One of them was Monster High. We know you grew up following the squad of popular monsters and other mythical creatures as they attended high school, which was a horror house in that alternate universe.
The said popular monsters and creatures range from the daughters of Frankenstein's monster and his bride or of Dracula; there's the Yeti's daughter, among others. Well, there's a new, very familiar Filipino creature joining the dolls from Mattel: Corazon Marikit. And what exactly is she, you might ask? Well, Corazon is actually a manananggal, a winged creature from Filipino folklore.
LOOK: Mattel’s New Monster High Doll Is a Manananggal
Corazon Marikit is a manananggal maven and that'ss part of the Monster High Designer Series 2. The doll dons a traditional red checked Filipiniana adorned by a fringe detailing along its midsection and hem. She also carries a pamaypay, along with a tasseled solihiya bag.
Plus, her heels are fashioned after the bahay kubo. On top of her already fashionable outfit, hauntingly beautiful batwings are seen sprouting behind her back.
The doll can even be split into two, much like how a manananggal is believed to be doing at night when it's out to prey on pregnant women and children to feed on their blood (and fetus). The packaging comes with a bendable pole that allows you to display the doll while her upper torso is detached from the lower one.
The doll retails at $75, which is approximately P4,299.19. You can check Corazon Marikit out through the website.
