While Marian Rivera has a lot to be proud of, she's admitted that there are moments that got her laughing at herself. Case in point: There was a performance of hers from over a decade ago that has now became a classic Internet meme.
Marian Rivera on Her Viral "Unfaithful" Performance
During an intimate Christmas gathering, she and her husband Dingdong Dantes got together with their fans. There, Marian and Dingdong were game to answer their fans' questions, one of which went: "What was your favorite meme of yourself?"
Without any doubts or hesitation, Marian started singing, "All of my life..." which had the crowd roaring with laughter. Marian briefly paid homage to one of her unforgettable moments when she was singing Rihanna's "Unfaithful" during the now-defunct show Party Pilipinas.
Marian humorously wanted to redeem herself during their Christmas party and said, "Bigyan niyo ako ng chance. Music please." The seasoned actress shared that she really found it extremely funny. As a back story, she admitted that she really didn't know Rihanna's song at the time—but well, the show must go on.
"Tawang-tawa kasi ako 'nun... Naka-on 'yung mic... Galing ako taping 'nun, so puyat ako 'nun. Tapos sabi niya, ito kakantahin mo. Sabi ko, 'Ano 'to? Hindi ko alam 'tong kantang 'to.' Rihanna daw 'yan. Bahala na... Ayun na 'yun, so tuwing nakikita ko 'yon, natatawa ako sa sarili ko," she recalled in a video uploaded on X. This is reportedly the first time that Marian told the story about the viral performance.
In all fairness, Marian was a good sport with everything about the viral meme. After all, it happened sometime in 2013 and it's been more than a decade already. Marian was also proud enough to mention that her daughter, Zia sings well. She declared, "Nabawi naman po ng anak ko." Facts only!
