Filipinos Maria Ressa, founder of Rappler, and Corazon Aquino, former Philippine president, are part of Time's 100 Women of the Year list!
The roundup, which gathers influential ladies of every race, background, and industry who made their marks in the last century, also includes the likes of Beyonce, Queen Elizabeth II, and Michelle Obama, as well as fashion icons Coco Chanel and China Machado. Powerful political figurehead Soong Mei Ling, artist Frida Kahlo, and educational pioneer Maria Montessori count among the number, too.
Both Cory and Maria have actually been highlighted by Time in the past. Cory was named Woman of the Year following the 1986 EDSA Revolution; Maria, on the other hand, was Person of the Year in 2018.
