The Barbie leading lady has many roles in life. Aside from being one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood, she is first and foremost a loving daughter. It's essential to remember that actors and actresses don't enter showbiz solely for fame; it's also a job—a job that Margot wouldn't have landed without her mom's sacrifices, a situation that resonates with many Filipinos.

In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Margot revealed that when she was just starting out, her mom would take money out of their house mortgage and lend it to her so she could pursue her career. "Everything I owed my mom, I had it written down. She'd take money out of the house mortgage and lend me money," said the actress.

Just this week, the Barbie movie made history by having the biggest opening weekend for a film directed by a woman. Barbie earned a whopping $377 million (approximately P20.5 billion) worldwide. As for Margot, she reportedly earned $12.5 million (approximately P682 million) from the movie.

That said, she wasn’t really making this much money until her breakthrough in Martin Scorsese's 2013 film, The Wolf of Wall Street. The moment she made it big, she used her first paycheck to start paying off her mom's mortgage.

"When I made enough money, I just paid off that entire mortgage. I told my mom, 'Don't even worry about that mortgage anymore. It doesn't even exist,'" she said. "Honestly, anyone in my position would do that for their mom," she continued, and we couldn't agree more!

ICYDK, Margot's mom, Sarie Kessler, raised the actress and her siblings alone. It's clear that the two have a very close mother-daughter relationship as the actress often brings Sarie as her date to red carpet events. And when Margot got married, she did so in her mom's wedding dress. How cute!
