Wedding bells tolled for Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde yesterday, July 28, 2023! The intimate ceremony and festivities took place in Baguio with the couple surrounded by their family and friends. While netizens outpoured their love and happiness for the newlyweds, people have also been anxious to see more content from the event itself.
From the venue’s appearance, the guests, down to the actual photos of the couple, there hasn’t been an influx of photos and videos on social media to give people a glimpse of this special day. Apparently, the lack of content for public consumption is a result of a special request that the couple specifically asked of their guests.
“Just a few things you might need to know,” reads an A&M WEDDING PROTOCOLS note on one of the tables during the reception, as shared by Twitter user @menggalurks.
“Do not post on the wedding day itself and refrain from geotagging. We value everyone’s privacy—ours and our guests. Please keep the environment and atmosphere safe for everyone attending,” it says.
It then goes on to remind everyone of the intimacy of the event, which the couple evidently wanted to preserve: “DO NOT OVERSHARE: We want to keep the celebration as intimate as possible. We would appreciate if you do not overshare on your socials, especially moments that are meant to be private and personal. As much as we would love the world to know, we want to keep this event private for us and for the people who are close to our hearts.”
Aside from safety and privacy, the couple ultimately wanted their loved ones to live in the moment so they can truly enjoy the special occasion: “BE PRESENT: Documenting is fun but we encourage everyone to minimize the use of gadgets as we want you [to] make the most out of this celebration.”
Their last reminder? “HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME: This is a celebration of love after all…”
It is very admirable how much the couple wants to uphold the intimacy of the event, not just for themselves but for everyone in attendance. We're sure everyone had a blast!
