10 Things You Need to Know About the Real Liza Soberano, According to Hope Herself

1. She's a Capricorn.

She was born on January 4, 1998 in California, USA.

2. She's Ilocana.

The half-Filipina traces her Pinay roots to the northern provinces of Pangasinan and Baguio, and considers herself Ilocana. While she's not exactly sure of her caucasian origins, she reveals she discovered she has traces of Native American DNA, and that she may even have French ancestry!

3. She was shy and boyish as a kid. 

It may be hard to believe given that she's a natural in the spotlight, but she was actually shy as a kid. Growing up with a brother, she also admits to being rather boyish and engaging in contact sports with him.

4. She's passionate about children's rights.

While she's into food, fashion, animals, and video games, her passion definitely lies in human rights–particularly that of children's. In fact, she has been donating to Save The Children prior to even signing up as their ambassador!

5. She considers "Forevermore" as her first big break. 

Starring alongside reel to real beau Enrique Gil, the then 16-year-old was catapulted to stardom with fans fawning over this feel-good romantic drama. Having it set in her province of Baguio seems like a good omen, yes?

6. Her most favorite projects include: "Forevermore," "Alone/Together," and the upcoming "Lisa Frankenstein."

Liza considers each project her baby and it's no surprise that she goes all-in on all of them. While Forevermore is an obvious teleserye stand-out for her, she counts Alone/Together as her favorite movie project—so far. The actress couldn't help but gush over her first Hollywood foray: Lisa Frankenstein!

7. She considers her empathy as her best trait.

She considers herself very empathetic. And while it helps her with internalizing roles, it can somewhat be a down-side in her personal life as it makes her understanding to a fault sometimes.

8. She's happily exploring her creativity behind the scenes.

Aside from acting, Liza is also testing out her chops behind the scenes. She discovered she was actually more creative than she initially thought, and she even co-directed her viral Maya video!

9. She tends to answer questions with another question.

Apparently in the past, Liza sounded like she's asking a question whenever she would respond to a question. This was a quirk that her fans pointed out to her, and since then, she's been more mindful of her intonation. Talk about taking control, we love how this simple act echoes self-assurance!

10. If someone were to make a movie about her life, she would want BLACKPINK's Jennie to portray her.

Remember when Liza was the chicest fan girl when she met Jennie and Lisa of BLACKPINK? The 25-year-old just took her Blink status to next level when she declares that she would want Jennie to portray her should there ever be a film about her life. Iconic!
