The 'Ant Man' star was all praise for the Filipino actress.

As 'Lisa Frankenstein' makes its worldwide premiere, Filipinos are eager to see how Liza Soberano does on the Hollywood stage. Her co-stars, at the very least, seem to have only good things to say about her. Kathryn Newton, in particular, was impressed by the Filipino actress' presence and professionalism during the shoot.

In an interview with Mayhem Mendes, Newton spoke highly of Liza. "I love Liza. She's just a gift to the world, this girl. She's the sweetest girl I've ever met in my whole life and there is nobody that could play this role except her because she's such a sweet human," she explained.

Soberano plays the role of "Taffy," Lisa (Kathryn Newton)'s step-siblings in the film. The duo worked closely throughout the production process. Newton, best known for starring in films like Big Little Lies, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, also raved about the Alone Together actress' work ethic and acting chops.

"Taffy is really like a sideways human kind of sweet, kind of terrible you're not really sure but there's nothing about Liza that's not perfect and sweet so working with her has been a lesson 'cause she's so professional. "She's like blowing me cold out of the water. This girl cries on command, she is funny on command and she's always perfect so working with her is so much fun."

Lisa Frankenstein follows the story of an unconventional teenage love story between a teenage girl and a boy who's been dead for years. It marks Zelda Williams' first feature film. The director had been the one who encouraged the Filipino star to do a screen test for the film. Soberano will be seen alongside Kathryn Newton, Cole Sprouse, Henry Eikenberry, Joe Chrest, and Carla Gugino.

"Taffy and Lisa, there is a lot of context behind them because they are just new sisters. They grew up in different households, different upbringings and are two completely different people but the way that it is showcased or presented in the movie is in a very one-dimensional way," added Soberano.
