This critically acclaimed series follows the budding relationship between Nick and Charlie. Made to sit next to each other in class, the pair start an unlikely friendship that turns into something more. But trouble arises when Nick, who’s only just realized he’s bisexual, asks to keep their romance a secret. Heartstopper topped the global Netflix charts during its first season and is set to return with a second one on August 3, 2023.
Young Royals
A gay romance about a royal falling in love with a commoner? Count us in! This Swedish teen drama centers on Prince Wilhelm of Sweden, heir to the throne after his older brother. When he starts attending the posh and private boarding school of Hillershka, he finds solace in Simon, a scholarship student with his own family burdens to bear.
First Kill
This teen romance drama is practically Romeo and Juliet with a supernatural twist. When young vampire Juliette turns sixteen, she’s tasked to enact her first kill. Unfortunately for her, she sets her sights on Calliope, a determined schoolmate who comes from a long line of monster hunters. Despite their warring lineages, the two embark on a forbidden whirlwind romance that sets both their families on edge.
XO, Kitty
A massive social media success, we all know by now that XO, Kitty is exceptionally queer. A spinoff of the To All the Boys series, it trails the adventures of the youngest Song Covey, Kitty, as she follows her mother’s memories (and her boyfriend) to South Korea. There she befriends Q and uses her matchmaking prowess to get him the boy of his dreams. Along the way, Kitty does a little soul searching of her own, realizing she might not be as straight as she thought.
Grand Army
Grand Army is an American coming-of-age teen drama set in a public high school of the same name. It rounds up five diverse students in Brookyln, New York as they battle with racism, violence, and terrorism, and learn to navigate their sexual identities. The series was based on a 2013 play called Slut: The Play.
The Most Beautiful Flower
Mich is curly, curvy, and confident in her skin. On her first day of high school, she makes it her mission to topple the school’s social hierarchy and prove to everyone just how fabulous she is. Her colorful journey involves discovering her sexuality as she gets caught up in multiple love affairs with both boys and girls.
