If you're looking for an events space that isn't as far as Tagaytay yet will get you away from the noise of the Metro, check out The Lakehall at Nena's Sanctuary in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Situated in a quiet area of the Sta. Elena Golf and Country Estate, this massive hall peeks slowly from the driveway as you approach. Enter and you'll be greeted by a gorgeous space framed by hardwood, glass, and tasteful chandeliers with giant flowers etched unto the walls. Look past the glass doors on one end of the hall and you'll see the lake's glistening waters beckoning. This is Lakehall.

The entire Banquet Hall can host up to 360 guests for a big event; if you'd prefer a more intimate experience, it can be divided into three main spaces—the Peony, the Dahlia, and the Iris—each with up to 120 guests. The three spaces are named after the flowers that adorn the main space. And don't worry, each one comes with its own comfort rooms, service kitchens, driver's lounge, and more. Best part? All the glass doors can slide open to give you and your guests full access to the outdoor spaces.
Framing one side of the hall is The Courtyard, an outdoor space perfect for a little pre-party mingling. You can also book this space for picnics or even glamping. This bit opens out into The Garden, an outdoor space ideal if you're bringing your entire barangay to the celebration (think 450 to 500 guests). On the other end of the spectrum, book the Terrace for a chic intimate space with lake and garden views and just around 40 seats.
Our personal favorite has to the the Deck, which leads almost into the lake itself. With a small ampitheater surrounding the deck itself, and possible arrangements for over 300 guests, it would be hard to find a more scenic spot for a wedding ceremony.

This events space was spearheaded via a family effort, the family, of course, of Nena Tantoco. Nena's son Donnie Tantoco, his wife Crikette, and their children are in charge of Lakehall, as well as the burgeoning Nena's Sanctuary. "We want to create modern amenities without breaking the experience of nature; offering contemporary spaces nestled in nature," says Crikette, President of Lakehall, in a statement.
The Lakehall is only the start of things. The family is looking to turn Nena's Sanctuary into a haven of sorts for events, lifestyle retail, and an overall leisure destination. They've opened up the doors of the hall until July 2 for visits, with pop-ups for both dining and shopping setting up camp for the timebeing, just check out their social media pages for the invites. A Rico's Cafe is set to open soon, too. So we say keep watch on this space if you're hankering to go south (but not too south) for a quick escape.
