During menswear fashion weeks, Bryanboy and James Reid are regular representatives of the Filipino community. LA Aguinaldo also joins their ranks. Over the past few years, the model and content creator has attended fashion shows abroad for prestigious luxury brands, such as Louis Vuitton, Hermès, and Kenzo.
In an interview with PEP.ph, LA expressed, "I'm just really thankful na I get those opportunities. I get invited by big brands all over the world. And it really, for me, it means a lot kasi napapansin tayo not just in the fashion industry, but also, being from the Philippines."
"So, every time I'm in, let's say, Paris or another destination, lagi kong dinadala na I'm really the Philippine representative... There's such a big world in terms of fashion na I get to bring with me when I go to all of these different places. So, nakaka-proud, at the same time, I really feel honored na ako yung napipili, ako yung na-invite."
LA Aguinaldo on Meeting His Idols at Fashion Weeks
For LA, the other thrilling parts of fashion weeks are meeting and exchanging tete-a-tete with his idols, such K-Pop sensation BamBam from GOT7, NBA player Kyle Kuzma, and Louis Vuitton Men's Creative Director Pharrell Williams.
LA admitted being thrilled to the bone by LeBron James during the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2024 fashion show in Paris in June 2023. He told PEP.ph, "I'm a big basketball fan. I play basketball. I love basketball. Nung una ko siyang nakita sa Louis Vuitton Fashion Show sa Paris last year. It was like larger than life kasi sobrang tangkad niya."
"But I was really starstruck nung nakita ko si LeBron kasi sobrang idol ko siya." He goes on, sharing how he's constantly in awe of meeting these big stars, "Actually, almost every time I see these stars in real life, medyo na-i-starstruck ako. But also, in a way, I tell myself this is like a dream I'm living, so kailangan kong i-remember na I have to live in the moment."
