Ku Hye Sun—who gained international fame in the 2009 Meteor Garden K-drama adaptation as Geum Jan Di—first broke the news of her upcoming graduation in the latter part of 2023.
In an Instagram post where she can be seen decked out in a cap and gown, the actress jokingly referred to herself as “Auntie Hye Sun” of her graduating batch. “I will be graduating after the final exams next week,” she captioned the photo in Korean, as translated by AsiaOne. “While taking classes with many fellow students and thinking about career paths and employment together, there was something I always wanted to say to my classmates who thought it was too late. It’s never too late. You are doing so well now.”

The actress is graduating from South Korea’s prestigious Sungkyunkwan University, where she is reportedly enrolled in the Department of Film and Television. In a recent update, Hye Sun revealed that her graduation will be on February 23 and that her degree comes with a special distinction—none other than Summa Cum Laude!

“I will never forget fellow students and the professors of Sungkyunkwan University who helped me achieve small achievements one by one during the time I felt lost,” she wrote. Alongside this, Hye Sun also showed off her final average score: a 4.27 over 4.5, making her the top of her class. Wow!
Congrats, Hye Sun!
