Kim Seon Ho held a fan meeting in Manila yesterday, July 22. While here, he took the time to visit his billboards for Bench situated along the Guadalupe Bridge. The actor even documented the adorable moment and shared it with fans on Instagram.
While his followers were thrilled to see Seon Ho making the most out of his time in Manila, other commenters couldn’t help but notice the sight behind the actor: the murky waters of Pasig River. In true Pinoy fashion, netizens had, well, a lot to say about the choice of view.
Pinoys reactions to Kim Seon Ho in front of the Pasig River:
“A photo you can unfortunately smell,” one user tweeted. The river has infamously been marred by pollution since the 1990s, and multiple rehabilitation attempts have been launched to restore it to its former glory.
Meanwhile, other commenters took a more lighthearted approach to the topic, with a few of them even editing the river to make it look more presentable.
Others jokingly compared the unappealing color to that of matcha. FYI, aside from garbage and sewage pollution, the river’s green color could also be the due to algae in the water.
True blue Seonhohadas remarked that his presence made the river look good and drove people to advocate for its cleanup. As of writing, “Pasig River” is currently trending on Philippine Twitter hours after Seon Ho made his post.
In 2021, the San Miguel Corporation initiated a two-year project to clean the historic waterway, which reportedly cost P2 billion. According to President and CEO Ramon Ang, they’ve so far removed “1.3 million tons of waste from critical sections of the river,” and they plan on concluding their efforts by August of this year.
