In a tweet, the 27-year-old wrote, "I just got scammed..." and her followers were quick to ask about what happened.
While Kaila didn't divulge further details, in a succeeding tweet, she made sure to spread awareness about her experience. "People out there can be very convincing these days so don’t answer calls from unknown numbers. Stay safe, guys!" she said, implying that an unknown number was involved.
There were netizens who flocked to her Twitter account and shared personal testimonies relating to scam experiences, especially with unknown callers. One netizen commented, "one of the reason I [sic] never answer any unknown number already [is] cause I [sic] got phished almost a year ago and lost around 80k.. literally all my savings." Another said, "I got scammed [a] few days ago kasi sobrang convincing talaga. Trust issues ko malala na talaga."
Kaila responded to these saying "I'm so sorry that happened to you too."
