Looking to have a glimpse of island life?

The city has its charms, but there’s a reason why many metro dwellers have flocked to more remote parts. With its unpolluted air, buzzing cicadas, and easy access to fresh flowing water, the island is a feast for the senses.

But for anyone who isn’t quite ready to detach themselves from the hustle of the city just yet, Airbnb has a quick fix: a riverside bamboo hut for temporary stays, right at the heart of the jungle.

What to expect at Jungle Hut Airbnb in Siquijor

Tucked inside the municipality of Lazi, Siquijor is Jungle Hut, bamboo-made cabins surrounded by the rainforest greenery of its hillside location. Airbnb host Lee offers two versions in close distances, each boasting a charm of its own.

What you need to know before you book

Since this is a hub for adventure travelers, walking is a prerequisite before stepping foot into the property. The host recommends both cabins for physically fit guests, as they would need to hike some distances towards the location.

While mostly harmless, the jungle is a natural habitat for insects and geckos, so expect their presence for most of the stay. The host also provides mosquito-repellant lotion and coils if needed, but guests with allergic reaction to bites should caution before booking.

The properties are equipped with electricity and Wi-Fi, but island life, in general, is also prone to occasional blackouts. However, according to the hosts, these usually last less than an hour, and emergency lights and battery backups can also be provided.
