Jung Hae In is best known for his infectious charm and acting prowess, as showcased in K-dramas like Something in the Rain, D.P., and the latest, Love Next Door. But behind the scenes, the Korean actor is praised for another thing altogether: his pure generosity to his co-stars and crew members!

The sweet anecdote about the Korean star’s giving ways was revealed in an episode of the talk show Salon Drip, where the lead cast of Love Next Door promoted their series.
At one point in the episode, Jung Hae In’s co-star Jung So Min commended her on-screen love interest’s demeanor on set. According to her, Hae In had a habit of relaxing others and sharing compliments behind the scenes. However, his on-set love language isn’t only words of affirmation–the actor is also fond of sharing his blessings by way of giving food!
Their co-star Kim Ji Eun detailed a special instance when Love Next Door was filming near a bakery called Napoleon. “We were shooting nearby when my manager brought in a huge bag of bread,” she recalled. “So I asked what it was.” Turns out, it was a stash of baked goods that Hae In bought for everyone!
Hae In’s generosity also had a noteworthy moment during one of the cast and crew members’ get-togethers. Ji Eun cited another occasion with the K-drama's team, where she discovered that Hae In had paid for everyone’s meals. The actress realized it when she offered her staff cash for their food, but they declined. “So I asked why, and apparently, Hae In gave them his credit card,” Ji Eun said.
Hae In recalled that the staff had only ordered beef for the gathering despite the menu having pork, too. As someone who leaned more as a pork eater, the actor joked about the moment. “When other teams have a gathering they usually block the beef, which was very uncomfortable for me. I felt bad blocking a menu that was available, so I told them not to block the order, but checked on the bill in the middle,” he laughed.
Hae In revealed that the cast and crew gathering had about 200 people and that the total bill didn’t rack up to “millions” of Korean won. So Min and Ji Eun were all praise for their co-star, with the latter saying: “I love working with him. When I’m on set, every time I ask about the random food, it’s always from Hae In.”
When asked by the host if he was usually this generous on set, Hae In agreed, but Love Next Door had an especially warm energy. “Yes! But this set feels extra friendly,” he said. “The producer and the director are the perfect combination. They are so humorous!”

The on-set warmth and humor aren’t surprising, given the comedic nature of the series. In Love Next Door, Jung Hae In plays Choi Seung-hyo, a rising star in Korea's architecture scene. He is admired not just for his professional skills but also for his good looks and charming personality. However, Choi Seung Hyo has some memories he'd prefer to erase, particularly those involving Bae Seok-ryu, portrayed by Jung So Min. Their connection dates back to when they were just four years old, brought together by their mothers' friendship, which led to many shared, and sometimes awkward, childhood moments.
On the other hand, Seok-ryu had a seemingly perfect life while growing up. She excelled academically, consistently topping her class. After graduating from university, she secured a promising role as a project manager at a major company. Despite her success, she suddenly quit her job and has remained unemployed since. Her life takes a new turn when she encounters Choi Seung-hyo again. Cue hijinks!
